Funeral Home Launches Tribute Memories Program

/ The Upper Cumberland's News Leader

Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home is offering a new program allowing those not able to attend funeral services to support families.

Funeral Director Jill Horner said people can leave an online condolence on any obituary’s tribute wall through the Tribute Memories Program. The funeral home staff would then print out the note and deliver it to the grieving family.

“Since we can’t come together and say how sorry we are in person, that is a way to express a memory,” Horner said. “A way to offer a condolence and just say, ‘I am thinking of you. I am praying for you.’”

You can also light a virtual candle, plant a memorial tree and upload photos or videos to the obituary. Horner said they have even hosted balloon releases for families with lost loved ones.

“Mainly, it is a way for people to connect during these times when we can’t,” Horner said. ”

Horner said they continue to limit all services inside and are conducting grave side services outside to allow social distancing. There is no time frame for when regular funerals will begin.
