Cookeville Teacher Falls in Jeopardy Tournament

/ The Upper Cumberland's News Leader

Cookeville teacher Sam Matson could not advance to the finals of the Jeopardy 2020 Teacher’s Tournament.

Matson was trialing the other two contestants, Lauren Schneider Lipton of Seattle, WA, and Ben Henri of St. Claire Shores, MI, by a considerable amount heading into Final Jeopardy.

The Final Jeopardy answer was, “As described in an 1831 book, it has “three recessed and pointed doorways…immense central rose window…two dark and massive towers”.

Matson was able to correctly provide “What is Notre Dame?”  Even though he bet all but one dollar, he was unable to overcome his opposition. Each contestant provided the correct question.

Henri, a 7-12th grade music teacher, will advance to the finals.
