A new HVAC system will be installed in the Burks Elementary School gym this summer.
Putnam County Schools Maintenance Supervisor John Magura said with the addition, all Putnam County Schools and gyms now have air conditioning.
“The gym at Burks Elementary did not have air conditioning. It only had heat,” Magura said. “So, we are adding an air conditioning system.”
Magura said the school is waiting for the delivery of the equipment to start the project. The HVAC system will be installed by the beginning of school this year. Charleston Heating and Cooling won the bid for the project at $94,030. Magura said the remaining parts of Burks Elementary has functioning AC.
