Van Buren County Fair Board Saturday will host its second annual, “Cruisin’ the Midway” Car and Bike Show.

The show will begin at 9:00 a.m. with 16 different categories being judged. Fair Board President Lesa Bouldin said the board is trying to give the county a fun event after cancelling the fair.

“We do not have any place where we can have that community,” Bouldin said. “We do not have a lot of restaurants, and of course, the ones we do have are not open. There is no place where people can just sit down and talk.”

Bouldin said the event will be outdoors and spread out across the fairgrounds to promote social distancing. Entry costs $20 with food vendors present and a corn hole tournament scheduled for 1:00 p.m.

“Judging starts at noon,” Bouldin said. “We would love everybody to come out. We have got some vendors. We have some food. We are trying to get that fair feel even though we can not have rides. We can eat some snow cones and look at some pretty cars.”

Awards for first, second, third and people’s choice for each category will be announced around noon.
