Tech Fundraising Data Involved In Security Breach

/ The Upper Cumberland's News Leader

Tennessee Tech officials reported a data security issue involving a company that provides fundraising assistance to Tennessee Tech and other universities Friday.

Blackbaud provides client relationship management to some 45,000 organizations around the world. The company said Tennessee Tech data was part of the breach. According to university officials, publicly available information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, emails and birthdays may have been accessed.

No financial information, social security numbers, or bank information were part of the data breach. The company told Tech officials it does not believe the data went further than the cyber criminal involved in the breach.

The investigation continues.
