A Clay County man was arrested Monday for sexual abuse of a 10 year old female child.
The child reported to Child Protective Services (DCS) that 32 year old Derrick Tramel sexually assaulted her. According to District Attorney Bryant Dunnaway, the investigation progressed quickly and revealed the allegations were true.
Tramel was charged with Rape of a Child, a Class A felony after Criminal Investigator Chris Isom presented the results. Tramel is currently held on a $350,000 bond at the Clay County Jail.
Tramel was arrested in Clay County by DA Investigators and deputies with Clay County Sheriff’s Office the same day the report was made by the child. Criminal Investigators with the District Attorney General’s Office, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and DCS conducted the investigation.
The investigation into these allegations is on-going and continuing.
