White Co. “Million Dollar Mile Yard Sale” Not Cancelled

/ The Upper Cumberland's News Leader

White County’s “Million Dollar Mile Yard Sale” will happen this year with two new operators.

The yard sale stretches across Sparta with residents setting up their items outside of participating businesses. The yard sale was originally cancelled Friday, but locals Kim Carr and Jennifer Rodriguez decided to take over.

Rodriguez said the event was not cancelled due to COVID, but Carr and herself did not want to see another event fall victim.

“A lot of people were very upset that this was called off,” “So, we want to give people the option to come and enjoy a yard sale. There are so many things this year that has been called off, and it just seems like this year has been horrible. I hate to see another thing that is called off.”

The yard sale is set to begin on October 3rd. Rodriguez said some vendors open as early as sun rise and close shop at sunset. Items range from old antiques to used household items.

“We contact businesses and make sure it is okay for them to set up yard sales in front of their businesses,” Rodriguez said. “You would have to contact us to get the okay to set up in these different spots.”

Rodriguez said the event will have a new Facebook event page for more information. If you want to participate in the event, call (931) 510-8458 or (931) 808-8011.
