Overton Noel Drive Residential Fire

/ The Upper Cumberland's News Leader

An Overton County residential fire on Noel Drive has displaced one resident.

Both Overton’s Hardys Chapel Fire Department and the Putnam County Fire Department were sent. Putnam Fire Chief Tom Brown said there was initial confusion which county the property was on.

“The fire appeared to have begun in a shed type building, a storage building, just adjacent to a single wide trailer which eventually extended to the trailer,” Brown said. “The shed was completely consumed, and there was severe damage to the single wide trailer.”

Brown said dispatch was sent around 6:30 p.m. Thursday. He said the fire was substantial and the single wide trailer was deemed a total loss.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. The resident was not at home during the fire and no injuries were reported from either fire department.
