Clay County Man Guilty Of Statutory Rape And Drug Possession

A Clay County man pled guilty to one count of statutory rape and once count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell.

Defendent Scott Brown will serve eight years in the Department of Correction and be placed on the sex offender registry. Brown was indicted for four counts of the statutory rape of a minor with incidents ranging from December 2016 to January 2018. 

The Defendant entered a plea agreement dismissing all but one count. Probation Officer Kristen Raines testified that the victim was sixteen years old and Brown was twenty-six years old when the relationship began.
