A portion of Cedar Avenue in Cookeville will close off this month for construction.
The Cookeville Police Department announced Tuesday Cedar Avenue from 6th and 7th Street will be blocked off beginning Thursday. The street will remain closed until the following Friday.
This is the first phase of the Cedar Avenue Beautification project. New lampposts, sidewalks and an improved storm sewage structures will be installed from First Street to 7th Street.
The Cookeville City Council approved the project in July.
