McMinnville’s Cedarwood Farms Opens Saturday

/ The Upper Cumberland's News Leader

Corn mazes and pumpkin patches are in season at McMinnville’s Cedarwood Farms opening Saturday.

Lucas Patterson has helped his father operate the farm for over 20 years. Patterson said being able to open during a year of cancellations is a happy moment for the family.

“When all this started happening, we were kind of questioning whether if we were able to do it or not,” Patterson said. “Of course, we are an outside venue, so that makes it a little bit safer. We are really excited.”

Starting at 9:30 a.m., people can hand pick their pumpkins and enjoy petting zoos and inflatable playhouses. Patterson said hay rides will not run this year due to social distancing.

“We have all kinds of fun activities,” Patterson said. “We have two petting zoos, hay maze, corn maze, corn crib. We got super slides, jump pad, inflatable slides. We got a newly built pedal track.”

The farm is open until November 1st on Thursdays from 8:30 to 3:00, Fridays from 8:30 to 9:00, Saturdays from 9:30 to 9:00 and Sundays from noon until 5:00. Patterson said his family makes a bonfire each night.

“We are trying to do everything we can to make everybody feel safe and follow guidelines,” Patterson said. “We are going with the flow as changes happen.”

Patterson said all activities will be limited and hand sanitizer stations will be set up across the farm.
