This Week: Fentress Talks Ag Pavilion

The Fentress County Board of Commission will discuss the purchase of land for a new Ag Pavilion Monday night.

This is a special called meeting to discuss the previously tabled decision on purchasing land for the future Fentress County Agriculture Pavilion. The 15 acres sit at 3600 South York Highway. Commissioners last week believed the county could get a better price than $15,000 an acre. The meeting begins Monday at 5pm and will be held via conference call.

The Jackson County Board of Commissioners will discuss revenue distribution from the Hotel/Motel tax Monday. Jackson County’s Agenda also includes a report update on a revenue audit. There will be quarterly reports from the Highway Department, Sheriff, Ambulance, Mayor and School board. The meeting begins Monday at 7:00 PM in the Jackson County Courthouse.

Tuesday is the deadline to submit absentee ballots for next week’s election. Early voting continues through Thursday.

Overton County will hold a public hearing Wednesday concerning the application for a block grant.

Cookeville City Council meets Thursday.
