Putnam School’s Bus Garage Outgrows Current Location

Putnam County Transportation Supervisor Kim Bradford said she is excited about the idea of the county bus garage getting a new home.

Bradford said her department is experiencing some growing pains after at least 40 years in the same location. However, she said the issues go beyond having 6 employees working out of one portable class room.

“We have outgrown our parking spaces for our buses here,” Bradford said. “The traffic is horrendous trying to get these buses out by Walmart on what is now a really busy little street is turning into a problem.”

Bradford said she sees a big benefit in working out of the same complex as the Putnam County Highway Department and county maintenance. She said collaborating with the highway department is essential to operations.
