Cookeville And McMinnville PD Working On Possible Connected Robberies

Cookeville Police Captain Bobby Anderson said detectives are comparing evidence with the McMinnville Police Department on two armed robberies.

November 3rd, Cookeville’s Crown Wine and Spirits was held up by an armed robber. The next night, McMinnville’s Smoke Shop on Sparta Street was also involved in an armed robbery.

“We are reaching out to other agencies. McMinnville is one of those,” Anderson said. “And also the TBI. We are asking other agencies to coordinate with us and give us some feedback if they do have some similar robberies.”

Cookeville police describe their suspect as a African American man, about 6 foot 3 to 6 foot 5 inches tall, in his early to mid 20s. A picture of McMinnville’s suspect matches this description.

Anderson said there are no new leads since the crime happened.

“The case is still active, so we do not want to comment on what type of evidence that we have,” Anderson said.

If you have any information on the man, please call the Cookeville Police Department at (931) 526-2125 or the Criminal Investigation Division at (931) 520-5322. Police said the public should not approach the individual.
