Four Teens Injured In Highway 111 Accident


A two-vehicle accident on Highway 111 sent five people to the hospital Wednesday morning including two via life-flight.

The accident happened near Quinland Lake Road in Algood. A vehicle driven by a juvenile had stalled in the left lane of travel. The driver was working on the car when it was hit in the rear by a vehicle driven by 21-year-old Joelle Simmons of Cookeville.

Both Simmons and the driver of the first vehicle were transported to out-of-town hospitals. Three teenagers in the car were transported to Cookeville Regional.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary report said the accident happened around 7:50am Wednesday morning.
