No Major Road Problems From Snow

Weather

Local emergency officials reporting no major road problems Tuesday morning after one to three inches of snow coated the Upper Cumberland.

Winds overnight helped dry some of the primary roads. Icy spots are still possible this morning, especially on raised surfaces such as bridges and overpasses as temperatures dip into the mid 20s.

Despite a steady snow throughout most of the afternoon, the first snow of the winter did not accumulate on roadways. Temperatures have been relatively warm throughout November.

The National Weather Service reports about three and a half inches of snow from Rickman to Bon Air Mountain to the Mayland area and into Monterey. Two to three inches of snow common elsewhere, almost entirely on grassy surfaces, roofs, and raised items. Lower amounts reported in the southern reaches of the region.

Sunshine will return Tuesday but temperatures will remain cold. The next chance of rain comes Friday.
