Putnam Clerk Offices Reopen With Lobby Restrictions

The Putnam County Clerk offices reopened Monday after a shortage in staff caused a temporary closure.

County Clerk Wayne Nabors said the office remains half staffed, so only people with title and plate issues may enter the main lobby. All other renewals can be completed thru the drive-thru from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

“Right now, one half of my staff is out with COVID-19 and FMLA. I will be very limited on personnel for this week,” Nabors said. “Therefore, I must put these restrictions into place. Please transmit that this is only temporary, and I hope to be back at full capacity. I am so very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused Putnam countians, but in view of COVID-19, this is the very best I can do for this week.”

Nabors said full operations should resume December 14th as more employees return. Until then, only five customers are allowed in the lobby at all times.
