Cookeville Regional Medical Center is bringing in Ricky Shelton as its new Chief Strategy Officer.
Shelton has worked for AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals for 13 years, where he’s received recognition and awards for leadership and sales growth. Shelton is being tapped to lead CRMC in development and implementation of the facility’s business strategy, as CRMC reviews its master facility plans in 2021.
The CSO position will serve as an advisor to the CEO, overseeing business strategies, planning and development. Shelton will also oversee a portfolio containing communications, healthcare worker recruitment and government relations.
Currently, Shelton serves as the Mayor of Cookeville, working in city government for 15 years. Shelton also serves on the Executive Committee of the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport, Joint Economic and Community Development Board, E911, UCHRA and UCDD.
He is a Cookeville native, receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Tennessee Tech University. Shelton is set to begin this new role January 4, 2021
