Tickets for Livingston Academy sporting events are being sold online only to make restricting capacities easier.
Athletic Director Bruce Lamb said fans can now purchase tickets through a TSSAA approved website called Gofan.co.
“We will sell nothing at the gate,” Lamb said. “This way it eliminates contact due to the COVID-19. All they do is come in. They show their phone, show their ticket where they purchased a ticket online and come thru.”
Lamb said the school plans to continue using the website for upcoming sport seasons. A one dollar service fee is added to each ticket with the base fee still going to the high school.
“TSSAA approved this three years ago, 2017,” Lamb said. “A lot of schools do these, now. Gofan.co. You go on Gofan.co, type in the school and it gives you what game are coming up. You can go online and purchase your ticket. It has a home side and visitor side, so you can pick your school.”
Lamb said the website does not limit how many tickets you purchase, which are first come first served.
“I think it is just a much easier time to get through things,” Lamb said. “Especially, the way our world has changed.”
The board of education approved the changes during its December meeting.
