The Pickett County Commission Monday approved the purchase of track loader for its transfer station equipment.
County Executive Carey Garner said the 2020 Takeuchi TL8 compact track loader would be purchased at $46,500.
The commission also approved applying for a Community Development Block Grant. Garner said the funds would be used for housing rehabilitation.
“This is a grant if we can get there is no match on it,” Garner said. “And I think they said it can be up to $500,000. This will be to help the people out in the county to maybe refurbish their houses in some way.”
The county’s budget calendar was also approved.
