The sale of drug dealer’s truck helped the Baxter Police Department upgrade its in-car cameras.
Baxter Police Chief Danny Holmes said upgrading all six police vehicles cost $5,300. Holmes said new equipment gives a morale boost to the department and said it felt like Christmas came early for his department.
“The company is right here in Tennessee and our cameras were getting very old, that’s for sure,” Holmes said. “They would quit working, the batteries weren’t working, it was hard to get parts for them.”
Holmes said the equipment came through a Tennessee company called 10-8 Video. Holmes said having surplus vehicles to sell has been a benefit to his department this year.
