White Co Schools Return From Break In-Person

The White County School System will return to school January 4th with in-person learning.

Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said keeping students in the classroom to learn was the main reason for the decision.

“We have been in session since the first of September in-person full fledge,” Dronebarger said. “So, we try to continue that model as we’ve gone through the semester. I think we all agree here in White County that in-person learning is the best form of education that we can provide.”

Dronebarger said the county will keep a close watch on COVID infection rates as schools return. Dronebarger said virtual learning options will only be available for families with specific medical needs.

“They can still get into that program with a note from the doctor,” Dronebarger said. “But, we don’t have an open enrollment for that. We truly believe in-person learning is proven to be the best form and fashion to deliver education.”

Dronebarger said students and parents can expect the same learning experience as the fall semester entering January.
