White Co. Schools Will Look For Student Input On New District Logo

The White County School System has started the process creating a new district logo.

Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger said adding a school trademark representing all 8 schools is the objective.

“We just don’t have a district logo for our school district,” Dronebarger said. “I think it is just something that professionally sets you apart a little bit, so I had the idea that we needed to create one.”

Dronebarger said the school system wants to make a school logo contest, so students can contribute. Dronebarger said winners could receive a cash prize with inspirations going to a professional designer.

“I think what drove that is the school board from time to time gets a school shirt or a district pullover in this case, and there really wasn’t any consensus on what we put on the pullover,” Dronebarger said. “(…) If we had a district logo, that would take care of that, but just on our letter heads and so many documents and different things that we have. There is just a need with that.”

There is not a timeline for the contest but Dronebarger said the sooner, the better. Dronebarger said he would like the logo to be simple while remaining timeless.

The Board of Education approved Dronebarger spearheading the initiative during the January 14th meeting.
