Fentress Asking Residents To Help Decorate County Courthouse

Fentress County is asking residents with an eye for photography to help decorate the renovated county courthouse.

Executive Assistant Amanda Hicks said residents can send in new or old photos. Hicks said the only requirement is for the picture to be high-resolution.

“What we really wanted to do was bring to life our community,” Hicks said. “So, with displaying the photos we want people to be able to come in and say, ‘wow, I would really like to go visit that area,’ It not only brings beauty inside the courthouse, but it also attracts people to what we offer here in Fentress County.”

She said photos will be displayed on the main floor of the courthouse, with older photos going upstairs.

“I’ve probably had about 15 submissions since I posted it on Facebook,” Hicks said. “It went a little more spread out. So, yes we’ve had several submissions but we’ll have a committee that will go and pick out the choices.”

Hicks said residents should either call the Fentress County Executive’s Office or email her at amanda.hicks@fentresscountytn.gov. The deadline for submission is February 26, and she anticipates a grand opening for the displays in late-March or the start of April.
