The Pickett County Board of Education has approved the next two school calendars, setting school schedules through 2023.
Director of Schools Diane Elder said the schedules formed by the school’s calendar committee are very similar to this year.
“They usually make up a sample for the calendar for the year,” Elder said. “This year they choose to go with two calendar years. So once they got that tweaked and everything in line. We presented that to the board Monday night, and the board accepted their proposal.”
Elder said each calendar is the normal 180 days. Both fall breaks are scheduled for the second week of October and the spring breaks fall on the third week of March. The first day of school for 2021 is August 4th. The last day being May 20th.
The 2022 school year starts August 3rd. May 22nd is the last day of school in 2023.
