Golden Eagle football kicks off Sunday against in-state rival Austin Peay.
Athletic Director Mark Wilson said the football teams dedication to the season and COVID protocols made this season possible. Wilson said now the Golden Eagles will get a chance to strap on the pads and start the season with the first game in the Sgt. York Trophy Series.
“We’re expecting a really competitive season and an opportunity to win an Ohio Valley Conference Championship,” Wilson said. “That’s what the Golden Eagles set out to do in each and every sport, every time that we play. That’s what Coach Alexander and the student athletes have their sights set on.”
Wilson said a lot of work has gone into getting the field and stands ready for fans this weekend. Kickoff is at 1:30 PM and the Tucker Stadium ticket booth will open at noon.
