Sheriff’s Office Collecting Evidence In Monterey Shooting Incident


Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Investigators are still collecting evidence related to a shooting that left one dead at the Monterey Waste Management Facility.

That includes video, witness statements and all other evidence. The Sheriff’s Office said all evidence will be presented to District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway.

The Sheriff’s Office said the evidence will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed. A person of interest has been questioned regarding the shooting incident.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Monterey PD responded on Saturday to a shots fired call. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrived on scene shortly after the shooting and began working the crime scene as a homicide.

Jimmy Doc Gibson, 59, of Monterey died as a result of the shooting that occurred at the county owned waste management facility at 2730 Old Walton Road.
