Overton County Health and Rehab is updating its visitation policy to allow outdoor visits.
Public Relations Director Scott Stevens said scheduled times will be evaluated daily based on community COVID numbers and weather.
“We are scheduling outdoor visits Monday through Friday,” Stevens said. “And a resident may have one outdoor visit per week with two immediate family members that are at least 16 years of age.”
Stevens said the facility is not conducting indoor visits despite the state allowing that option. Stevens said positivity rates in Overton County are encouraging, but it must consistently remain under 10 percent to reopen.
“The two hardest challenges to me before any form of indoor visits occur are number one, our county positivity rate in Overton County must be at 10 percent or less for 14 consecutive days,” Stevens said. “The second is the facility can not have a positive COVID test on an employee or resident for 14 days. Currently, Overton County Health and Rehab more than beats the 14 days COVID free, and with good news, we are starting to see some days in Overton County below the 10 percent positivity rate. So this is encouraging.”
Stevens said all outdoor visits must be scheduled by calling Overton County Health and Rehab. Stevens said virtual and window visits are also being offered.
