Putnam Co. COVID Clinics Moving Locations Wednesday

Putnam County COVID clinics will operate at new locations and times starting Wednesday.

Health Department Director Lisa Bumbalough said COVID vaccinations are moving back to the Putnam County Fairgrounds for the 1-C phase.

“Folks will enter on  Walnut Avenue just as they have in the past,” Bumbalough said. “It will continue to be a drive thru clinic, so individuals will remain in their vehicles throughout the entire process.”

Bumbalough said vaccinations are still being administered by appointment. Free COVID PcR testing will move to the county health department as well as COVID self testings.

“We do hope that individuals in that phase 1-C with high risk conditions will come and get their COVID vaccine,” Bumbalough said. “It is a very easy process now. You can go online and apply for an appointment.”

Self tests are conducted Monday, Wednesday and Friday. PcR testing occurs Tuesday and Thursday. All happen from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tennessee Tech needing to use the Hyder-Burks Pavilion resulted in the movements.

“We certainly have seen a great response from the community coming and receiving their COVID vaccination,” Bumbalough said. “So, we are very happy with that and hope to continue to offer that.”
