The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department found a burnt body near Pow Road Monday.
According to the department, authorities responded to a burnt vehicle call that evening. On arrival, a burnt GMC Sonoma was discovered in a creek at the end of the road. An unidentified white male who was burned was partially outside of the vehicle.
The cause of death is undetermined at this time. The body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for autopsy in Nashville. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.
Pow Road is located about two miles south of Baxter.
