Very heavy rainfall moving into the Upper Cumberland once again Saturday night prompted the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood warning.
The warning for Putnam, White, and Dekalb Counties extends til 4:15am Sunday. The warning also includes Northeastern Cannon County, southeastern Smith County, northwestern Van Buren County and northern Warren County. Flash flooding could be happening or be imminent in any of these areas.
Emergency management reports flooding on Lost Creek Road in White County with two to three feet of water across the road. At least two water rescues have taken place in Cannon County along Marshall Creek Road.
As much as three inches of rain fell earlier Saturday and two to three inches could fall over the next several hours.
If you encounter flooded roads, turn around. Do not try to cross a flooded roadway.
