Local Church Hosting Baxter Easter Celebration Saturday

Putnam County’s Pleaseant Grove Fellowship invites you to an Easter Celebration at the Baxter Depot.

Pastor Houston Jared said his church wanted to host the community event to make up for last year’s shut down.

“Saturday, April the 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.,” Jared said. “And what it is is just food, fun, games and more. What we plan on doing is just doing an outreach to the community cause the Easter Celebration last year was cancelled.”

Jared said while there may not be a egg hunt planned, there is plenty of fun to go around for all ages. Jared said the event is free for anyone to attend.

“We’re going to have some bouncy houses set up. We’re going to have some obstacle courses that are bouncy house styled with rock climbing walls that is all inside a bouncy house,” Jared said. “There will be face painting. We have a four foot tall connect four game. There will be nets for throwing footballs and shooting basketballs and just a lot of fun in that area.”

Jared said on arrival, each participant will be stamped on the hand and chaperones will be at each fun station. Jared said you can come hungry too with burgers and nachos for sale.

“We want to point people to Jesus in this, but at the same time, we don’t want to be so churchy that people feel uncomfortable,” Jared said. “We want people to have a good time and enjoy fellowship. That is our main goal in this.”

Jared said the safe, wholesome fun is something that is needed. Jared said he thanks Baxter city officials for allowing the depot to be used for the celebration.
