Livingston-Overton Co. Chamber Of Commerce Introduces New Website

Overton County has a new way of promoting tourism and business through its freshly developed website.

Discoverlivingstontn.com is a one-stop site to find places to shop, eat and play. Chamber of Commerce Director Shannon Cantrell said the website still lacks a few additions, but it is operational and ready to be explored.

“One of the biggest reasons that we wanted to go completely rebuild this website is it’s important for our community to know what’s going on,” Cantrell said. “The event calendar is going to be a huge part of this, and all the events should be updated on this website in the next couple of weeks.”

Cantrell said the website upgrade was much needed with the previous one made in 2007. Cantrell said the site is more user friendly and comes with new abilities such as chamber membership applications and job postings.

“Websites are almost like a continually process, and they have to move as the times move,” Cantrell said. “This one includes the new logos we have gotten for the chamber  and some of the new shop, eat and play safe verbiage and photos.”

Cantrell said the website was made by a local company through a Twins Lake grant. Cantrell said she hopes to have the website complete before the summer to highlight upcoming events.
