Cumberland County UCHRA will begin moving into its new location on Wednesday.

Coordinator Jamie Edwards said the new 1720 West Avenue address provides better visibility to the community. Edwards said letting people know a plethora of services are available in the county is the top priority.

“A lot of people just thought that the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency wasn’t anything but the vans, seeing the vans out,” Edwards said. “So hopefully with this move and being able to get out and being more visible and accessible and doing more outreach, we can expand our programs in this community.”

Edwards said the office will be closed for the move from Wednesday to Friday and will reopen May 3. However, she said clients can still call the main office line and transportation will run. Edwards said if anyone is having an emergency and needs UCHRA services, they can call her at 931-704-1040.

Edwards said there could some changes that occur when the office completes the move.

“Our city routes could change a little bit,” Edwards said. “Starting Monday, May 3 but right now we’re going to try to leave it just the best that we can with the same routes. Because everybody is so used to those.”

However, Edwards said she has been in contact with Cumberland County Officials and the Cookeville UCHRA Office. She said this is part of the plan to expand services around the county.

“We do commodities, which is food that’s given out every other month,” Edwards said. “That’s set up to give out at the complex center over here at the fairgrounds, but we’re wanting to expand that to the eastern side of the county too, to maybe to where we can do two distribution sites for Cumberland County. This county is so large, maybe being able to set up in different parts of the county, maybe every other week.”

Cumberland County UCHRA has services that also include Court Appointed Special Advocates and Community Corrections. Cumberland County UCHRA will close from April 28-30, reopening on May 3 at 1720 West Avenue in Crossville.
