Multiple law enforcement agencies are investigating a possible plane crash near the Rockwood Airport in Roane County.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, first responders were alerted Tuesday morning of a single engine plane that reportedly crashed. Search areas have been narrowed to the airport from Old 28 Highway and possibly Morgan County.
As of 11:00 a.m. Cumberland County EMA Director Travis Cole said no remains of a plane crash have been located. A command post has been established at the airport to organize the search. Roane County, Morgan County and Knox County are assisting.
