Monterey Announces Craig Morgan As Fall Country Concert Headliner

Mayor JJ Reels announced their inaugural “Mountain Rhythms” concert event, with country music star Craig Morgan set to headline the event.

Cultural Administrator Rafferty Cleary said steps still need to be completed before the October 7th concert.

“We are extremely excited to announce it to the public,” Cleary said. “There is still a lot of hard work that has to go in. There is still some safety planning that’s got to go down, we’ve still got to go out and get a little bit more funding for this event as well, but just to be able to get it out to the public and to get those contracts signed and to be able to let everyone know that we’re going to celebrate in downtown Monterey is an exciting point.”

Cleary said the event will have food vendors and trucks available as well. He said the event is free to all, with VIP tickets available at First Volunteer Bank starting Wednesday, August 11th.

Cleary said the event is being organized by Chris Landers of Magna 1 Lubricant. He said Landers was able to hire Morgan through their motorsports connection.

Alderman pledged $30,000 in funding from their county general fund to the event at a meeting last month.
