Algood Home Fire Controlled By Homeowner, Neighbors Quick Response

The Algood Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire Wednesday after a breaker panel caught fire.

At 1:45 fire crews dispatched to North Deerhaven Drive off of Mirandy Road. Upon arrival, light smoke was seen coming from the garage area.

The thermal imaging camera was able to determine the fire did not spread from the breaker panel. The home owner and neighbor were able to keep the fire from spreading out of control by using a fire extinguisher.

No injuries were reported and the damage was contained to the breaker panel and surrounding wall space. The person who called the fire in, feared the fire had spread into walls and attic.

Two apparatus and 10 personnel responded from the Algood Fire Department. The Algood Police Department and Putnam County EMS responded as well.
