Audition for H.O.M.E.’s Warren County’s Got Talent Contest

The Homeless of McMinnville Effort invites the community to participate in their first-ever Warren County’s Got Talent Contest.

Head of Ministry Chad Cagle said anyone in the community can participate with any talent be it singing, dancing, magic or comedy–just bring your talent and support H.O.M.E.’s efforts to bring awareness to homelessness in their community.

“A lot of times people have a bad view like they’re just lazy, they don’t want to work–that’s almost never the case,” Cagle said. “It’s always been something that has happened–a single mom, or a good family has just been displaced and they just couldn’t make it and they need help, and that’s what we’re here for.”

This is H.O.M.E.’s first-ever talent show, and they want community support so they can host events like this every year.

“As most people realize, H.O.M.E. is completely non-profit and no one in our organization gets paid–not a dime,” Cagle said. “Everything that we get either comes from grants or the contribution of loving citizens of the community.”

Participants in the talent contest can win up to $200 for first prize. Cagle said he thinks the contest will benefit both H.O.M.E. and individual members of the community.

“To actually be able to see all of the talent that this county could possibly hold–all the love we could show them and maybe the encouragement to take their talent a step further,” Cagle said. “At the same time, we’re able to help our friends that have been displaced from their lives.”

The first round of auditions will be at Bill’s Barbecue on Saturday, August 14th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and the main event will be held at McMinnville’s Park Theater on Saturday, August 28th at 6 p.m. It costs $25 to enter.
