The city of Cookeville has informed the public of a social media account claiming to be the official Instagram of the city.
The account “thecityofcookeville” has made controversial posts regarding COVID. The City Council felt it was appropriate to clarify that the account is not endorsed or affiliated to the city or elected officials.
According to a Cookeville press release, the city’s legal team is aware of the situation.
