Clay Boys Basketball Team Helping Improve Donaldson Park

The Clay County High School Boys Basketball team giving back to its community by repainting Donaldson Park.

Coach Rob Edwards said the plan is to paint the pavilions and picnic tables.

“I told the guys about it, and they were all pretty happy about it,” Edwards said. “I think we have a great group of young men, and obviously won a state championship last year and a great group coming back, which is all of them but one.”

Edwards said the idea cam from conversations with Celina Mayor Luke Collins. The city has been pushing to improve park, and Edwards said it presented a volunteer opportunity for his team.

“I was talking with Mr. Collins, and we were talking about things he was hoping to do with the park,” Edwards said. “He and the Aldermen had been discussing some discussions, and it just kind of popped in my brand.”

Edwards said painting should begin September 18th. Edwards said the community service will be a benefit to his team.
