Baxter’s Harvest Festival returns to have another year celebrating everything “Homegrown In Tennessee” on Saturday, September 25th.
Festival Committee Member Jeanie Lee said that the festival will be in celebration of both the state’s 225th birthday and the Baxter community itself.
“Of course we’ll have homegrown food and we’ll have all kinds of entertainment, live entertainment, and events, and activities for children, for the whole family,” Lee said. “And you know if there is ever a time we need that it is now.”
Lee said the festival will have a host of vendors serving food and goods, as well as music, a car show, and other activities. She said that after being apart last year, this event presents an opportunity for
“It’s a fun time that you can pull away from just pressures of day in and day out activities and work and school and so forth,” Lee said. “That you can just have a great time celebrating your community.”
Lee said that when it comes to the festival, it’s the involvement of the community that will make it a success.
It takes an entire community to you know do it successfully. We can all do things but when we work together, it’s a huge success. I think that’s very important with our city officials, and county officials and families and businesses, it benefits everyone.”
Lee said that the event is free to attend, but suggests bringing money for the vendors’ products. The event will be held at the Baxter Depot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
