Monday’s E. Spring Street Crash Has Gordonsville Man Airlifted To Vanderbilt

An accident on East Spring Street Monday ended with a Gordonsville man being airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

According to a preliminary Tennessee Highway Patrol report, 21-year-old Benjamin Lane of Gordonsville was traveling east on East Spring Street in a 2013 Nissan Rogue. The report states that when Lane attempted a left-hand turn, a 2018 Kenworth Dump Truck traveling west collided with Lane’s vehicle. The vehicle then traveled west before colliding with a utility pole and stopped partially in the westbound lane.

The dump truck was operated by 54-year-old Gary Cooper of Monterey, who sustained injuries but was not transported.

THP’s report states that there were no charges for Cooper and that charges for Lane are pending the outcome of investigation. There is no update on Lane’s condition at the time of reporting.
