Clay Seeking To Fill District 1 School Board Seat

Clay County Commissioners seeking to fill the District 1 School Board seat.

Mayor Dale Reagan said that the position left vacant by Chris McLeran will need to be filled by someone ready to take on an important role in the county.

“They take care of all the budget processes and all that stuff,” Reagan said. “So it’s a very, very important part of the county government when it comes to the department of education. They’re one of the main voices in the department of ed when it comes to making decisions.”

Reagan said that those candidates who are interested will have to be verified by the election commission that they’ve lived in the district for at least one year and they have a high school degree. He said that while they have 120 days to fill the position, he would like someone selected at the next county commission meeting on November 1st.
