Putnam August Sales Tax Revenue Up 12 Percent Compared To 2020


August sales tax revenue in Putnam County came in Tuesday 12 percent over the same month last year.

The County saw the highest increase by about 23 percent. Algood followed with a growth of 18.5 percent, Baxter 15 percent and Cookeville 10.5 percent.

Monterey’s revenue decreased by 3.9 percent. All five municipalities contributed to $4,265,018.31 of sales tax revenue. That is over a half a million dollar increase from last year.
