This week in the Upper Cumberland the Byrdstown Board of Aldermen will hear a report from its engineers.
Engineer Nathaniel Green will review sewer connection possibilities for the Industrial Park and feasible American Rescue Plan projects. The meeting at city hall begins at 5:00 p.m. Monday.
Overton County Commission gathers Monday to fill the commissioner seat of District 1. Frank Martin passed away, leaving the seat vacant. Members will also hear from the local chamber of commerce requesting $15,000 to split the cost of a retail consultant.
The meeting begins at 5:00 p.m. at the county courthouse.
The Algood City Council will hold a work session Monday at 5:00 p.m. Council members will discuss who will make up a committee to work with Tennessee Tech on a tourism branding initiative.
An ordinance restricting some building materials will also be considered for its first reading. The work session is in preparation for the Tuesday Council meeting at 6:00 p.m.
The Celina Board of Aldermen meets Tuesday to consider a resolution to provide leak insurance for businesses and farms. The meeting begins at 5:00 p.m.
The Overton Board of Education will consider pay raises for assistants, cafeteria workers and substitutes. The school Board will also review lighting and bleacher options for Livingston Academy’s stadium renovations. The meeting begins at 6:30 with a work session to follow.
The Clay County School System will work on replacing Director of Schools Matt Eldridge. Eldridge announced his retirement in September. The school board will have interviews Tuesday with a potential hire at Thursday’s meeting at 6:00 p.m.
