CRMC Foundation Double Donation Day Benefits Healthcare Heroes And Patients

The Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation is hoping for a big turnout this year for its annual Double Donation Day matching challenge.

Foundation Director John Bell said that there is up to $30,000 in match funding. He said that the money goes right to patients and healthcare heroes in the Upper Cumberland.

“Those donations become medicine they become medical equipment or utilities or groceries for patients or their families at home,” Bell said. “So you kind of step in that gap particularly when a family is dealing with an emergency and just has nowhere to turn and they’re still in the hospital or they’re dealing with a long-term diagnosis.”

Bell said that there are some 14 funds donors can designate their donations to the funds of their choosing. He said that those funds include an employee assistance fund, a CPR education fund, a pet therapy fund, as well as hospital programs themselves.

“It’s a way to really be a blessing to a struggling family or patients here in the Upper Cumberland,” Bell said. “Who have had a major setback with a sickness, or a disease, or a major injury.”

Donations made through the 9th are eligible for Double Donation Day. Bell said donations can be made via phone or at the foundation’s website.
