Cookeville Man Faces Four Charges Following Sunday Accident

A Cookeville man faces four charges following a traffic accident Sunday morning.

39-year-old Thaddeus Spady was charged with driving on a revoked license, driving without insurance, leaving the scene of an accident, and failing to report an accident.

Tennessee Highway Patrol reports Spady was traveling eastbound on I-40 near mile marker 275 in a 2005 Mercedes S430 in the right lane when he crossed over the left lane and went off-road, striking the cable barrier. Spady traveled along the cable barrier before overcorrecting to go off-road on the right side, where his vehicle came to a rest.

Spady stated that a tire blew out and he lost control of the vehicle, but all four tires were inflated when the trooper arrived on the scene.

The accident occurred around 6:45 a.m.
