A Warren County woman has been charged with TennCare fraud and theft of services for allegedly reporting custody of her child in order to receive health insurance benefits.
26-year-old Breanna Walters allegedly reported she had custody of her child to obtain TennCare healthcare insurance benefits. Walters continued to report her child as a dependent after investigators allege a family member had gained custody. As a result, it is alleged TennCare paid more than $9,438 in fees and claims on Walters’ behalf.
Both the theft of service charge and TennCare fraud charge are class D felonies.
