Upper Cumberland Electric Membership Cooperation will debut an updated member portal Tuesday.
Information Technology Manager Wade Givens said the new platform means enhanced security and a better user experience.
“With all technology, eventually it has a life cycle where it needs to be retired and your safety and cybersecurity measures that are in place with the old platform have been enhanced,” Givens said. “That’s why we knew the timing was right to go ahead and transition.”
Givens said the web updates have been in development for the last six months. Givens said members can expect a modern browser with a dashboard for payments.
“An updated look and easier to navigate,” Givens said. ‘We’re going to have a dashboard with usage and payment history on there. They can still sign up with auto pay with credit card or e-checks.”
Givens said with the change, new members will have to create alphanumeric username. Givens said existing user names and passwords will transfer over.
“It was us in-house,” Givens said. “We worked on it internally as well as our partner that provides our billing software. They have the front end of the piece of our application for our members.”
Givens said the member portal can be found by visiting www.ucemc.com and clicking the “Log In,” tab in the top right corner.
