This Week: Overton Schools Consider Scoreboard Purchase, Central View Committee Gathers


This week in the Upper Cumberland the Cookeville Planning Commission will consider the preliminary plat for the Highbury Subdivision.

A planned 147 lots located on Neal Street and East Veterans Drive. Business begins at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

The Fentress County Commission also meets Monday. Members will consider a resolution that allows the county to apply for an arts grant to place a mural on East Avenue. The mural will showcase local scenery and the beauty of Fentress County. The commission meets at 6 p.m.

Algood City Council Tuesday will consider a $17,418 bid to CGS Inc. for trenching walls. The council will also consider amending the membership for both the Planning Commission and the BZA on second and final reading.

The meeting begins Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Overton County Board of Education will consider approving an agreement with Putnam County Schools to bus Students of the Wilson Community.

Livingston Academy stadium renovation purchases will be up for approval. A some $300,000 purchase for stadium lights and a new scoreboard.

Thursday, White County School’s Central View Subcommittee will discuss future use of the vacant school property. The meeting at the board of education starts at 6:00 p.m.

The Jackson County School Board will consider approving a bid for a parking lot project at its middle and high schools. The board meets at 6 p.m. Thursday at Central Office.
